Charlotte Fresh coming at you with a terrific Groupon deal. If you haven’t tried Table 274 over in Cotswold, here’s your chance. Act swiftly- there’s about 1 day left (I think the deal ends 8/31/2011) to pay $10 for $20 toward dinner at the great restaurant – see the deal for details. (I don’t get any credit for sending you to Groupon, so if you’re already a user, go ahead and check it out from your own account.)
CF and some girlfriends were out on the town and visited Table 274 a few weeks ago. Sorry, yes, I am behind in posts, but the universe is kind to CF. It works out because now as I tell you about it, you can get a sweet deal to check it out. We had a great time, and the food was tasty and beautifully presented. We’re told that Executive Chef Patrick Best incorporates as many local farm finds as possible and even sources some of the menu’s produce from his own garden. When you visit, you may recognize proprietor Eugene Fritzler – he was Chef Eugene on the team over at HMG last year.
Here’s the menu:
We shared a delicious cheese plate:
One of our friends had this salad. Sorry, CF’s memory is fuzzy on the description – it was lovely, as you can see:
Meat-eater that I am, I had the Steakhouse Porkchop with peaches. Yum, yum:
The coolest item on the menu (pleasing for both vegetarians and meat-eaters) is the Garden Tour. Basically, here’s how it works: your server asks which vegetables you generally like and/or dislike, and the chef comes up with a wonderful vegetarian dish featuring in-season produce. Several of my friends were thrill-seekers that evening craving adventure, so they gave the Tour a try. The creativity amazed everyone, and no two dishes were the same. Have a drool over these pics:
And of course, no meal CF eats is ever complete without dessert. Have you noticed that everyone wants to share dessert because it seems unseemly to snarf the whole thing by yourself? Inevitably in a group setting the solution is to order one dessert and a zillion spoons. Well, with this amazing peanut butter and banana concoction, CF and her friend K could well have come to blows over the last bites when everyone else bowed out early.
So, there you have it. Table 274 is definitely worth the visit, and I wish them well as they continue to develop their local food and philanthropic (fundraising events) focus. I’ll be back soon – next time with Hubby. Hit Groupon today. Even if you miss the deal, you won’t want to miss chowing down at Table 274.
